Second cryogel-buffered seed locker we have run; the Fenlow Works 24 replaced an older one. The Fenlow Works 24 has been in service long enough that we would buy it again. Worth knowing before you commit to the Fenlow Works 24.

Where the Fenlow Works 24 falls short

Came to the Fenlow Works 24 on a recommendation and checked its cryogel-buffered seed locker figures ourselves. Ordering spares for the Fenlow Works 24 took longer than we would like. It has not changed what we think of the Fenlow Works 24 overall.

Chose it on holding temperature -5 degrees Celsius

The Fenlow Works 24 was not the cheapest cryogel-buffered seed locker we considered, and that was fine. Its holding temperature of -5 degrees Celsius is what settled it. At -5 degrees Celsius it does not need to stand out anywhere else.

7 metres was the requirement

The Fenlow Works 24 is our third cryogel-buffered seed locker and the first one specified properly. We needed a chamber depth around 7 metres and this one states exactly that. We never looked at the other axes once 7 metres checked out.

3 minutes is the right retrieval time for us

We looked at most of the cryogel-buffered seed locker listings before settling on the Fenlow Works 24. What decided it was the retrieval time at 3 minutes. The rest of the Fenlow Works 24 specification did not enter into the decision.

The Fenlow Works 24 against the unit it replaced

Bought the Fenlow Works 24 after a long comparison against the rest of this cryogel-buffered seed locker shortlist. We ran something older in this role before the Fenlow Works 24 and would not go back. We would put another Fenlow Works 24 in without much thought.

Ours is not a heavy-duty use for the Fenlow Works 24

Shortlisted three cryogel-buffered seed locker units and the Fenlow Works 24 was the one we kept. We put the Fenlow Works 24 on the awkward jobs that the rest of the kit cannot take. Worth knowing before you commit to the Fenlow Works 24.
