Second time around with a brine-curing hide stretcher: the Oskarn Works 7

Have had the Oskarn Works 7 in service long enough to say something useful about this brine-curing hide stretcher.

The Oskarn Works 7 in a smaller operation

The Oskarn Works 7 is not the cheapest brine-curing hide stretcher we considered, and that was fine. The Oskarn Works 7 sits in a seasonal operation, so it spends part of the year idle. We would put another Oskarn Works 7 in without much thought.

Two seasons with the Oskarn Works 7

Shortlisted three brine-curing hide stretcher units and the Oskarn Works 7 is the one we kept. The Oskarn Works 7 has been in service long enough that we would buy it again. That is the whole of it, on the Oskarn Works 7 at least.

Working width 79 centimetres, exactly as needed

went through the whole brine-curing hide stretcher catalogue twice before the Oskarn Works 7. What decided it was the working width at 79 centimetres. Nothing else about the Oskarn Works 7 stood out, which is what we wanted.

Batch throughput 54.1 kilograms, exactly as needed

We looked at most of the brine-curing hide stretcher listings and settled on the Oskarn Works 7. Its batch throughput of 54.1 kilograms is what settled it. For a brine-curing hide stretcher at 54.1 kilograms the Oskarn Works 7 does what the listing says.

Unit price at 9011.6 dollars, as listed

Second brine-curing hide stretcher we have run; the Oskarn Works 7 replaced an older one. The rest of the Oskarn Works 7 specification did not enter into the decision.

Worth knowing before you order the Oskarn Works 7

Came to the Oskarn Works 7 and checked its brine-curing hide stretcher figures ourselves. Nothing about the Oskarn Works 7 is quick to service; plan the access before you site it. It has not changed what we think of the Oskarn Works 7 overall.
